The story of Bloodline is not over by far.
Friday’s episode of Smackdown not only continued the beef over arguably the most important storyline in professional wrestling history, it also set the table for another newcomer.
Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso continued to solidify their reconciliation since Bad Blood, but Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tonga Loa and Tama Tonga outnumbered them. After Solo scored a resounding victory over Jimmy, thanks to the distractions of the rest of Bloodline 2.0, the latter began to beat him.
Reigns came to Jimmy’s aid, but was overwhelmed by the numbers game and received a Samoan Spike from Solo to end the skirmish. At the end of the show, Jimmy was sitting in the ring with Reigns, repeating the concept he said at OTC when the show opened: “We need help.”
Jimmy opened the show and was joined by Reigns in the ring. Jimmy tried to insinuate the need to bring his twin brother, Jey Uso, back into the fold. Reigns responded to this suggestion by saying “no again”, much to the dismay of the South Carolina crowd.
At some point, it’s clear that Jey, who has since won his first singles title, will join his twin and Reigns. Since the breakup of Bloodline, Jey has become a WWE Superstar. He consistently generates pops on par with world champions and seems to have a handle on WWE’s younger fan demographic.
Expect Reigns to step aside to allow Jey to shine within the reformed Bloodline. Even when that happens, the trio will still be outnumbered. Roman’s new faction will need a fourth, and all signs point to Hikuleo taking that spot.
Hikuleo is the 6-foot-8 brother of Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa and the son of WWE legend Haku. Like Tama Tonga and others, Hikuleo struggled extensively on the independent scene and in Japan.
He reportedly signed with WWE in July. Although Hikuleo has been a great heel in the past, it seems like he would be better suited as a face alongside The Usos and Reigns.
In case you’re wondering how strong Hikuleo is in the ring, here’s a look at a match he had with the talented Kevin Knight to give you an idea.
Hikuleo’s size should give him some screen presence, and he should get along well with the more well-known members of the Bloodline.
It wouldn’t be a shock to see Hikuleo debut in time to help Roman and Co. take on Bloodline 2.0 at Survivor Series.
